Houston or Bust – 2016 International Quilt Festival

First of all, The 2016 International Quilt Festival looks to be the ultimate gathering of quilters, artists, and textile gurus assembled in one place on the face of the planet.   Our goal is to be there this weekend to explore, and chart the next generation of quilting and sewing projects we plan to attack in 2017.   Don’t be lazy, if you live in Texas or surrounding states, consider making the journey to Houston.

Also each year there are great people to meet, and new things to see, new techniques to learn, and of course there are new things to buy.   Because as we grow Lone Star Blessings into a business, we hope to find products to carry in our online store.  Most noteworthy of those items we plan to feature here on the blog.   First of all these will be things that will accomplish our goal of taking a person with no sewing knowledge at all, and providing them the training to make them into an quilter or sewing expert.

Most of all it will be exciting to see the lines of sewing machines, new techology, fabric, quilting machines, and even vendors of notions and gadgets.  Maybe even find some new fabric projects!  In only two short days it will be hard to find everything new and cool in quilting, but we will try our best to find that one thing that will help you make your dream project.

As a result, this weekend our team of writers will, Lord willing, all be in Houston for a great day of learning and exploring, and maybe we will say hello and hand you our card.   Besides sewing I enjoy electronics, making and designing all sorts of things, and playing with lasers.   I hope over the next few months you will see several of our project kits to help you learn to quilt!
